Terms of use

Version 2.0 | Effective Date: August 4, 2026

Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Proto Teq website and store, and any design, prototyping or 3D printing work we carry out for you. By using this site or placing an order you accept them.

1. About Us

This website is operated by Prototeq Solutions, of 84/D, Borella Road, Aturugiriya, Sri Lanka, 10150 (“we”, “us”, “our”). References to “you” mean the person using the site or placing an order.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published here when you place your order. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.

2. Store Orders, Pricing and Stock

Placing an order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we confirm your order and accept payment. We may decline an order where stock is unavailable, a price has been listed in error, or we cannot verify payment or delivery details.

Prices are shown in Sri Lankan Rupees and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We take care with product listings, but specifications and images are supplied by manufacturers and may change without notice. Colours may vary between screens and physical product.

Store payments are handled through WooCommerce. For services and larger orders we may issue a secure custom payment link once you approve a quote, or accept bank transfer. Work begins once payment or an agreed deposit is received.

3. Quotations and Service Work

Quotations are based on the files, drawings and information you provide and are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. If your requirements, geometry, material or quantity change after we quote, the price and lead time may change too.

Lead times are estimates given in good faith, not guarantees. Machine downtime, material supply and courier delays can affect them, and we will keep you informed if a date is at risk.

3D printing and machining are manufacturing processes. Parts carry normal dimensional tolerances, visible layer lines, support marks and minor cosmetic variation between batches. These are inherent characteristics rather than defects. Where a specific tolerance or finish is critical, tell us before we quote so we can confirm whether it is achievable.

4. Your Files and Intellectual Property

Files you send us remain yours. You keep all intellectual property rights in the CAD models, drawings, designs and specifications you supply. You grant us a limited licence to use them only to quote for and produce your job.

Where we create a design for you from scratch, the intellectual property in that design transfers to you once the work has been paid for in full. Until then it remains ours.

We will not display your parts or designs in our portfolio or on social media without your permission, and we are happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement on request. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

The content of this website — text, photographs, logos and the Proto Teq and Prototeq Solutions names — belongs to us and may not be copied or reused without our written consent.

5. What You Are Responsible For

By sending us a file to print or manufacture, you confirm that you own the rights to it or have permission to have it produced, and that doing so does not infringe anyone else’s copyright, patent, trademark or design right.

We reserve the right to decline any job. In particular we will not produce firearms, firearm components or other weapons, items designed to cause harm, counterfeit or replica branded goods, or anything unlawful under Sri Lankan law.

Where you supply the 3D model, you are responsible for its accuracy, wall thicknesses, tolerances and fitness for the intended purpose. We can advise and flag obvious problems, but a part printed correctly from a flawed file is not a defect on our side.

Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, parts we produce are not certified for medical, aerospace, structural, load-bearing or safety-critical use.

6. Delivery

We deliver islandwide across Sri Lanka, typically within 1 to 4 working days of dispatch. Express options are available on request.

Delivery timescales depend on our courier partners and are not guaranteed. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Please check your order on arrival and tell us within 48 hours if anything is damaged or missing.

It is your responsibility to give us a correct and complete delivery address. Redelivery costs arising from an incorrect address may be charged to you.

7. Returns, Warranty and Accounts

Returns, refunds and our 12-month printer warranty are set out in full in our Refund and Returns Policy, which forms part of these terms.

If you create a store account, you are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity carried out under it. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else. We may suspend or close an account that is used fraudulently or in breach of these terms.

8. Limitation of Liability

We stand behind our work and will put right anything that does not meet the specification we agreed with you.

Beyond that, our total liability in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as loss of profit, loss of contracts, production downtime or delay costs arising from the use of parts we supply.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Affairs Authority Act No. 09 of 2003 are unaffected.

9. Governing Law and Contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If any provision is found to be invalid, the rest remains in force.

We would always rather resolve a problem directly — please talk to us first.
