Privacy Policy

Prototeq Solutions respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, buy from our store or commission design and 3D printing work, and what we do with it.

1. Who We Are

Prototeq Solutions (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a mechanical design and 3D printing business based at 84/D, Borella Road, Aturugiriya, Sri Lanka, 10150. We operate this website and the Proto Teq online store.

We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. For any privacy question, contact us at info@proto-teq.com.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect what we need to serve you:

  • Contact details — your name, email address and phone number, when you enquire, request a quote or place an order
  • Delivery details — your delivery address, and a billing address where different
  • Order information — what you bought, order value, delivery method and order history
  • Project files — CAD models, drawings, sketches, STL/OBJ/STEP/IGS files and any specification you send us for a design or printing job
  • Account details — your username and a securely hashed password, if you create a store account
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, device and pages visited, collected through cookies

We do not collect or store your full card details. Payments are handled as described in section 5.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to prepare quotations, carry out design and printing work, process and deliver orders, handle returns and warranty claims, answer your questions, keep proper business and tax records, and — where you have asked for it — send you occasional updates.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising profiling.

4. Your Design Files and Intellectual Property

This matters more than anything else on this page, so we will be direct about it.

Any CAD file, drawing, prototype design or technical specification you send us remains your property. We use it solely to quote for and carry out your job.

We do not share your files with third parties, sell them, publish them, print copies for anyone else, or reuse your geometry in other customers’ work. Where a job requires an outside supplier — for example a specialist finishing or machining service — we will ask you first.

We will not use photographs of your parts in our portfolio, on social media or in marketing without your permission. If you would like your project kept entirely confidential, tell us and we will treat it that way. We are happy to sign an NDA on request.

Project files are kept only as long as needed to complete the job and support you afterwards — typically 24 months, so we can reprint or revise a part for you. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time.

5. Payments

Store orders are processed through WooCommerce. Service work is usually paid through a secure custom payment link issued once you approve a quote, or by bank transfer.

Card and banking details are entered directly with the payment provider or your bank. We never see or store your full card number, CVV or banking credentials. We retain only the order reference, the amount and confirmation that payment succeeded.

6. Cookies

We use cookies to keep your shopping cart and login session working, remember your preferences, and understand in aggregate how the site is used so we can improve it.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Please note that disabling them will stop the cart and checkout from working properly.

7. Who We Share Information With

We share the minimum necessary with:

  • Courier and delivery partners — your name, address and phone number, so your order can reach you
  • Payment providers and banks — to process and reconcile payments
  • Our web hosting and email providers — who store data on our behalf under contract
  • Our accountants and, where legally required, government authorities

Some of these providers operate servers outside Sri Lanka. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information stays protected to the standard set out in this policy.

8. Retention, Security and Your Rights

Order and invoice records are kept for as long as Sri Lankan tax and accounting law requires. Enquiries that do not become orders are deleted within 12 months. Project files are handled as described in section 4.

We protect your information with access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted staff access. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and act quickly if a problem arises.

In line with the Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022 of Sri Lanka, you may ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, delete data we no longer need to keep, or stop sending you marketing messages. Email info@proto-teq.com and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Changes and Contact

Our website may link to other sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to read their policies.

If we update this policy we will change the version number and effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
